I just purchased a rare find for Northern alberta for a 1963 champ with 44160 original miles with 289 engine with the 5speed OD transmission on the truck. I am trying to see how many of the 7e-122 were sold in Canada back package like this in the time and which dealer. I found some info on Studebaker Garage towards ho many were built. It states that here were 2122 E7-122 models built over the 1963-1964 model years. I am looking to see where one can find how many were shipped to Canada.

If no one answers here try the Studebaker truck talk forum or the sdc forum.

Probably too late, but here's a partial answer. Studebaker did not separately account for the trucks that were built in South Bend and shipped to Canada, just lumping them together with those exported elsewhere. The only way to know how many were exported to Canada would be to go through each export production order and count the number sent to Canada. Someone may have done this, but I can't remember seeing anything about that. The Feb 87 issue of Turning Wheels had an article about Champs and may have included info on the number of trucks shipped to Canada.

A 7E indicates 1962 production. All 8E's were for 63 & 64 model years. Yours is a long bed w/ 122" wheelbase but according to the monograph from the museum there is no breakdown on how many of each wheelbase were made. It does list the total production of 7E7's as 2314 of which 1781 were domestic & 533 export. Hope this helps.
