My truck was a $99 e-bay buy (a 1948 M16) that I drove 2000 miles round
trip to pick up. (Hillsboro, Ohio to Nw kansas). It had rat nests up to
windows, caved in top and hood, all good trim and grilles missing, and
althou had 420 lookers ,I was the only bid and kept it from being
crushed. its now on a Chevy 1/2 ton frame, has 350 SBC, 700r4 overdrive
with lockup converter, 3:73 12 bolt limited slip rearend, power
steering, power disc brakes , tilt wheel, air conditioning, am/fm/cd.
,all new tinted windows, and 4 glass fenders 2 inch wider than stock
M5. Also homemade bed, and tailgate. Tailgate has Douglas aircraft DC8
thrust reverser pistons as cross bars and a torque tube from Dc8 for a
rear bumper. Truck was built for fun and even thou just gotten out afew
weeks ago, it has been to 3 shows and 1 cruise in and is shocking how
much attention it gets and the questions I receive. Randy Wilkin ,57
years old, Hillsboro,Ohio ( aircraft sheet metal tech. )
Updates on my 1946 Studebaker M series Streetrod, Have added wood in bed, different mirrors outside, added Studebaker name plate to toolbox, Studebaker step plates to running boards, and still have things I want to do in future. One picture was taken on the way to 2013 Southbend meet.
